VPI Tank Cleaning

Cleaning VPI systems requires technical knowledge of the resin utilized and the functions of the system.  SMS has the experience and knowledge with the VPI systems and the varnish utilized in them.

Product Filtration

SMS introduced filtration within the VPI processes years ago.  Product filtration has been of increasing interest to firms that value the quality of both their resin and their products produced.  Filtration can perform miracles with resin that exhibit characteristics of gelled particles and contaminates.  It also can extend the life and quality performance by returning the resin closer to specifications that will allow an addition of additives suggested by the manufacturer once all contaminants are removed.

F.A.Q.

for Vacuum Pressure Impregnation Services

A typical tank repair/cleaning company does not have the experience or knowledge on all the system functions or the resin utilized in them.  SMS techs have the ability to respond to your system concerns and handle the resin during the complete process.

VPI’s typically average to 3-5 day span for cleaning depending on the buildup of resins within the chambers.

The best time to have a lining application is right after the cleaning.  Lining applications take on average an additional 2 days for preparation and application.  There is also a 7-9 day cure on the application depending on climate factors in the facility.

Provided all times for curing are adhered to, all lining applications receive a 100% guarantee from peeling or cracking.
